Decent weights mainly small fish showing

With an upgate wind on the river conditions were good,Clive williams came out on top with 13lb on the waggler made up of roach and dace, on the next peg Gary Smith fished a whip for 11lb, third place went to Neil Culham 8lb including two bream.

Match fished in extreme conditions 33 degrees.

In very hot conditions fishing was very testing, not only the heat but Gary Smith and Chris Shaw had to put up with people bathing next to them.

In first place was Gary Smith who caught small fish on maggot with a wipp off the end peg for 8lb 10oz, second was Pete Tomlinson who also fished maggot for 8lb 7oz, third place went to Chris Shaw who fished caster and hemp for a level 8lb.

Difficult day for most with small fish the order of the day.

Mick Danby came out on top with 9lb,  with a net of mainly small fish with the odd better  roach, this was the norm for most with only small fish showing, in second place was Gary Smith with 9lb followed by John Rick with 7lb  from the upstream end peg.

4 ton weights with the heaviest falling to Neil Culham who started on pellet waggler but a switch to the pole saw a steady flow of carp giving Neil a winning weight of 134lb, only one fish behind was Pete Tomlinson with 131lb fishing down the margins to find a better stamp of fish.In third place was Martin Lacey from unfancied peg 13, Martin finished with 120lb.

With no silver fish showing it was carp or bust, after a slow start Pete Tomlinson found the fish feeding  in the margins on maggot and recorded an easy win with 154lb, in second place was John Rick who also caught in the margins putting 105lb on the scales, third went to Horace Smith with 100lbs

With an upgate wind making float fishing tricky float weights were low., but on the upstream end peg Neil Culham found the beam feeding, and fished a perfect match catching 10 bream to win with 33lb. Second place went to Clive Williams with 7lb of float caught fish.Third palce went to Pete Tomlinson  6lb 3oz..

This new venue provided some excellent weights, Neil Culham drawn on peg 19 caught on pellet waggler and pole for a winning weight of over 100lb, in second place was John Rick on peg 23 with a pole caught weight of 70lb, third place went to Pete Tomlinson on peg 5 with 54lb.

With the carp reliuctant to feed a few of the anglers had a decent day, while some struggled to get the fish to feed, leading the way was Daryl Butler with 72lb 10oz from peg 17  Daryl fished over on pellet on the inner island, in second place was Chris Shaw 70lb  on the outer peg 14 catching down the margins, third place went to Mick Danby also on the inner with 55lb.

On the hottest day of the year so far the fish were in a spawning frenzy weights were lower than expected as the fish had other things on there mind.

With fish spawning and the sunny and bright conditions it made it hard for most, leading the way was Chris Shaw on peg 22 who put 34lb on the scales his weight was helped by a mighty carp weighing 16lb 9oz, that along with a couple of smaller carp and some silvers gave him the win,running him close from peg 24 was Martin Lacey with 33lb Martin coming second again for the third consecutive match Martin had 3 carp and a few silvers .third place went to evergreen Clive Williams fishing on peg 5 Clive had 30lb mainly silvers on worm.

Weights were low with no roach showing only small fish and the odd bream making up the weights.

John Rick fishing peg 202 had  bream up to 4lb in his catch and also lost a couple of big bream, second place went to Martin Lacey had mainly skimmers and one decent bream for 9lb, third place went to Chris Shaw with a net of skimmers for 6lb.
